From Cynthia Murphy of the Pasadena Police Department:

Good afternoon, all, and I hope this finds you all healthy and in good cheer –

The attached revised Crime Alert bulletin from the Pasadena Police Department has been authorized for release by Detective Sergeant Bobby Lomeli and is in regard to increased vehicle burglary activity (459V).

I am sending this bulletin to citizens on both sides of Pasadena because, being a mobile community, we feel it is to everyone’s benefit to know that these property crimes are occurring in various parts of the city, not just Old Town or the Hastings Ranch 24-Hour Fitness. Please let your friends and neighbors know about this current trend and ask them to remember to be aware of suspicious activity in their surroundings, where ever they are, and may you and your loved ones stay safe…

Remember to call me if there are any issues or concerns I can assist you with.

The contents of the Crime Alert document:

There has been a rise in Vehicle activity during the month of March.  There have been four (4) key areas of focus:

1) 800 Block of East Walnut Street – This is the apartment complex on Walnut Street.  There were eight (8) reports associated with this address. However, a suspect was arrested and there have been no more reports at this location. This case has been solved, but, please be extra careful and aware of the other three areas.

2) Schoolhouse Parking at East Green Street – There have been three (3) reports: one each on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  The reported times have been 1:35 AM, 8:00 AM, and 6:35 PM.

3) Oakland Avenue, between Union Street and El Dorado Street – These appear to be centered around the vehicles parked for the 24-Hour Fitness Center on Oakland Avenue, south of Union Street. These are occurring all days of the week after 5:00 PM.

4) 24-Hour Fitness – Electric/Halstead – This is still a favorite location.  In March, burglaries have occurred on Fridays and Sundays after 5:00 PM.

If any suspicious activity is seen, please call the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4501.
